Purpose

Provide a systematic means for naming websites that fall within the realm of UTMB Division of Community Outreach (DCO).

· All DCO employees responsible for creating and publishing websites.
· All DCO project staff working on a project that has a dedicated website.

Policy
State the policy / standard.
All DCO websites will have a consistent naming structure. Websites may also have an alias URL as appropriate for the specific site / project. The naming of new websites must be approved by __________________.

The naming of DCO websites is compliant with UTMB web publishing guidelines. (Provide URL for these guidelines)

Procedure
Provide a numbered outline describing the process to implement the policy / standard.
1. All DCO websites will begin with the umbrella URL for the Division of Community Outreach – www.communityoutreach.utmb.edu. The umbrella URL is the primary portal for the website.
2. The umbrella URL will be followed by the department and project name – www.comunityoutreach.utmb.edu/(department)/(project/program). Example: www.communityoutreach.utmb.edu/ahec/nfp.
3. Alias URLs may be utilized as appropriate for marketing purposes and/or specific project partners or other requirements. Example UTMB website: www.utmb.edu/nfp. Non-UTMB website example: www.nfp.etxahec.org.
4. The naming of all Primary Portal and Alias URLs must be approved by _______________.
