Texas AHEC Workgroups policies  (United States)

I'm sure how the new system will get started. Perhaps Dr. Helen Miner will contact all of us as our center sponsor and tell us how she wants us to begin. In the interim we might want to start thinking of who we want to be our new leader, and what process we will use to get there, i.e., nomination, voting, consensus, volunteer, boxing match, etc.
We might want to begin with discussion around the who and how.  I'll go with the majority on the how. As for the who and why, I hope Marshall will consider throwing his hat in the ring. He has leadership experience, he knows the work and the resources, and he's in the same office as the PE&S center sponsor which can't help but be a perk.

January will be here before we know it and that means someone has to collect data during December for the Jan. 22nd. report. As the outgoing PE&S coordinator I'll be able to give that person the relevant information for 2006 as it pertains to East Texas AHEC efforts.

Re: Texas AHEC Workgroups policies  (United States)

Jim,
I'd  like for you to continue in your leadership role to facilitate the process.

By the way, there is no reason against having a program office person lead a work group.  The group will need to make the decsion based on the needs of the group and the leadership skills of the groupgroup members. Mary

Re: Texas AHEC Workgroups policies  (United States)
Since both PE&S and CBE are combined as a work group, we will be reorganizing and working to set up an agenda and time for conference call.  As program responsibilities differ from center to center, it is important that all identified staff are invited to participate in the first conference call.  I will try for a  date next week for the first call, but will use email to set it up.  Helen Miner
