The goal of Brazos AHEC Practice Entry and Support is to establish and maintain programs that recruit and retain health professionals for underserved populations throughout Central Texas

· Assisting practicing healthcare professionals to obtain continuing education

· Supporting National Heath Service Corps participants

· Convening collaborations of nursing recruiters and administrators

· Providing information resources to practicing health professionals

· Assisting healthcare providers with technology needs

· Addressing the nursing shortage by

à Helping develop new nursing school programs

à Assisting hospitals with retention strategies

à Supplying nursing career information to career counselors

à Marketing nursing as a viable and rewarding career

à Preparing and educating applicants for nursing school admission and retention
