The Program categories have been re-defined.  Please review the Glossary under Help Desk to identify an appropriate program for your activities.  Most Programs will be associated with a specific grant or funding source.  All fundamental AHEC activities will be categorized as "AHEC Core Mission" or "AHEC Staff Operations". These new categories are also defined under the Glossary under Help Desk.  If you need to add a new category, please submit a ticket through the IAHEC Help Desk.

Data has not been changed or deleted.  The IAHEC Core Team will be reviewing existing data and contacting all centers before updating records.  The IAHEC Core Team will only be updating data back to July 1, 2008 to apply this change in definitions.

We have 9 of our staff who live on the island.  They were able to return to their homes today for the first time.  5 of the nine have extensive flood damage.  And of course houses that have been closed up with salt water damage for 11 days have horrible mold, mildew, and mud.  Tomorrow we will help remove carpet and sheetrock, take ruined furniture and household items to the curb, help sift through what is salvageable, and help make plans for how to put lives back together over the next several weeks, all without power and potable water. logo_iahec_234.gif is a web resource designed by East Texas Area Health Education Center (AHEC) staff for electronic data collection and reporting of all "AHEC touches."  Its design provides a secure, easy to use web-based information portal that encourages daily activity entry and ensures accurate and up-to-date data accessible on demand. All three Texas AHEC programs have been involved in the creation and implementation of this project.

logo_iahec_234.gif data collection portion allows for the capturing of our activities and efforts including contact information, promotions activities, community-based education experiences, practice entry & support activities, partnerships, health literacy projects and community health system activities.

logo_iahec_234.gifgenerates reports of our efforts in standard federal, state and regional reporting formats and in customized reporting formats to facilitate tasks performed by AHEC program staff (example: mailing addresses exportable for merging with letters for participants/students/hospitals etc).  Data can be queried using multiple filters such as center, county, program and other variables for individually customized reports.

logo_iahec_234.gif forum area is intended for discussions among Texas AHEC staff and partners to ask questions, answer questions, offer suggestions or share information.

logo_iahec_234.gif web links access commonly used files on the Texas AHEC program office server for staff and websites frequently used by the AHEC staff in their activities. Links are updated as our programs or projects demand, or as our users request.
